Brand Blogger Guide

This guide covers everything a brand needs to run a blogger program on AvatarShot β€” from setup to approving posts.

Prerequisites

  • Your brand must be created at avatarshot.com/brands/create
  • Your Second Life avatar must be linked to your account (see Getting Started)
  • Your in-world Delivery Box must be rezzed and online so products can be sent to bloggers automatically

Step 1 β€” Set Up Your Blogger Program

Go to your Brand Blogger Dashboard at avatarshot.com/brands/{id}/bloggers (accessible from your brand page).

Before you can accept bloggers, fill in two required fields under the Settings tab:

  • Welcome Message β€” shown to bloggers when they view your brand's apply page. Introduce your brand and what you're looking for.
  • Blogger Rules β€” your requirements: deadlines, platforms you accept, photo quality standards, hashtags, etc.

Once both are saved, you can turn on Hiring Bloggers β€” this makes your brand appear in the public Brand Opportunities directory.

Step 2 β€” Get the Blogger Recruitment Box (Optional)

The Blogger Recruitment Box is an in-world object you rez in your shop. Bloggers can touch it to apply without visiting the website.

  1. From your Brand Blogger Dashboard, click πŸ“¦ Blogger Box in the top navigation
  2. Click Get the Hub Box β€” the AvatarShot bot delivers it to your in-world inventory within minutes
  3. Rez the box in your shop, touch it β†’ Configure β†’ type your brand name exactly as it appears on AvatarShot
  4. Contact the AvatarShot team to activate your first free month

Once active, the box shows a green status on your dashboard. Bloggers who touch it in-world are taken through the full application flow automatically.

Step 3 β€” Enable Products for Bloggers

Go to the Products tab on your Brand Blogger Dashboard. Each product in your store has a toggle β€” enable the ones you want bloggers to be able to claim.

  • You can set a deadline per product (how many days the blogger has to submit after claiming)
  • You can add product-specific instructions that bloggers see when they claim it
  • Disabled products are hidden from bloggers but remain in your store

Step 4 β€” Review Applications

When a blogger applies, you get a notification. Go to the Applications tab on your Brand Blogger Dashboard.

  • Each application shows the blogger's name, their portfolio/social link, and their message
  • Click Accept to add them to your blogger team, or Decline to reject
  • Accepted bloggers can immediately start claiming products

You can also invite bloggers proactively from the Blogger Directory β€” find a blogger whose work you like and click Invite via [your brand].

Step 5 β€” Monitor Assignments

The Assignments tab shows all active and past assignments across all your bloggers.

  • Pending β€” product claimed, waiting for delivery
  • Items Sent β€” product delivered in-world, blogger is working on it
  • In Progress β€” blogger has started (deadline clock is running)
  • Posted β€” blogger submitted links, waiting for your review
  • Overdue β€” deadline passed without submission
  • Approved / Rejected β€” you've reviewed the submission

You can also manually mark an assignment as Delivered if you sent the product outside the system, or Cancel it if needed.

Step 6 β€” Review and Approve Posts

When a blogger submits their links, the assignment moves to Posted and you get a notification.

  1. Open the assignment on your dashboard
  2. Click each submitted link to review the content
  3. Click Approve if the post meets your standards β€” the blogger's reputation score increases
  4. Click Reject and provide a reason if it doesn't β€” the blogger can see your feedback

After approving, you can leave Feedback (positive or negative) which appears on the blogger's public profile.

Extension Requests

Bloggers can request a deadline extension. You'll see these in the Assignments tab with a yellow indicator. Review the reason and click Approve or Decline.

Managing Your Blogger Team

From the Team tab on your Brand Blogger Dashboard:

  • Remove a blogger from your program at any time
  • Blacklist a blogger to prevent them from applying again
  • View each blogger's stats: completed assignments, rating, on-time rate

Announcements

Use the Announcements tab to post messages to all your bloggers at once β€” new product drops, event info, rule changes, etc. Bloggers see these on their Blogger Dashboard and can reply.

Affiliation Badge

You can mark certain bloggers as Affiliated β€” this shows a special badge on their public profile indicating they're an official brand ambassador. Manage this from the Team tab.
