The Feed is where you share your Second Life photography, outfits, and moments with the community.
Creating a Post
Creating a post is a 2-step process:
Step 1: Media
- Photos — Up to 10 images, max 10MB each (auto-resized to 1600px)
- Videos — 1 video per post, max 60 seconds, max 50MB
- Caption — Describe your look or moment
- Drag & drop or click to upload
Step 2: Settings
- Maturity Rating — G, M, A, or A+ (required, see guide)
- Media Settings — Public gallery, commercial, comments policy
- Outfit Breakdown — Tag each item (category, brand, item name)
- Location — SL region, SLURL (teleport link), windlight/environment
- Albums — Add to your portfolios
- Tags — Help others discover your post
Smart Publish Assistant
The composer now includes a built-in publishing assistant to improve post quality before the post goes live.
- Readiness Score — Measures whether your post has enough context for discovery and collaboration use.
- Live Checklist — Highlights missing caption context, tags, credits, location details, or maturity settings.
- Creator Preset — Applies a faster creator-oriented publishing baseline.
- Smart Tags — Suggests tags from outfit rows, media type, and location signals.
Brand Matching From Outfit Credits
When creators type brand names inside the outfit section, AvatarShot can now search for matching brands already registered on the platform.
- Matched Brands — Shows likely platform brands with verification and hiring status.
- One-Click Crediting — Add the matched brand directly to tags or credits from the composer.
- Publishing to Collaboration — Helps bloggers and creators connect a post to real brands without leaving the upload flow.
Reactions
Users can react to posts with:
- Fire — high-impact visual content
- Love — strong positive sentiment
- Shot — photography appreciation
- Fashion — outfit and styling emphasis
- Like — general approval
Maturity Filter
The feed has checkboxes to filter content by maturity rating. Your preference is saved in your session. See Maturity Rating Guide for details.
Layout Options
Switch between three layouts:
- Masonry — Pinterest-style columns
- Grid — Uniform squares
- Single — One post at a time, full width
Infinite Scroll
Posts load automatically as you scroll down. No pagination buttons needed.
Following Feed
Click "Following" next to the Feed title to see only posts from people you follow.
